A TransferNow alternative for files that should not linger
TransferNow is built for sending large files by link or email. Fliko is built for the opposite priority: sharing something sensitive briefly and privately, then making sure no copy is left behind.
TransferNow is a capable large-file transfer service: you upload, it generates a link or emails the recipient, and they download. If your goal is to deliver a big, non-sensitive file, that workflow is exactly right.
Fliko is the alternative for a different goal. Sometimes you are not trying to hand someone a file to keep. You are trying to let them see something sensitive, briefly, and then have it disappear. That is what Fliko is built for.
Where Fliko is different
- Temporary by design. Every share has a self-destruct timer. When it ends, the file is deleted from our storage and backups and the link goes dead. Delivery is not the finish line; deletion is.
- View-only mode. Open a share in a locked viewer with no download. Android blocks screenshots and recording; iPhone blanks captures and alerts you (Apple does not allow apps to fully block iOS screenshots, and we are upfront about that).
- Encrypted on your device. Standard files are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before upload, so we never hold a readable copy.
- No recipient account. They open the link, QR, or 6-digit code in any browser.
A note on size
Large-file transfer tools win on raw size. Fliko in the browser is tuned for quick, sensitive shares (up to 250 MB and 10 files per share); the iOS and Android app supports larger files and longer timers. If you genuinely need to ship multiple gigabytes of non-sensitive data, a transfer tool is the simpler pick. For anything private, the trade is worth it.
